ARLINGTON, Va. — At the HDMA fifth Annual Board & Membership Meeting in Laguna Beach, Calif., the Association announced the election of Ted Scherr, President/CEO, Dakota Drug, Inc., as Chairman of its Board of Directors. Mr. Scherr assumes the chairmanship from David Neu, President, AmerisourceBergen Drug Corporation, who was elected to the position in October 2012 and remains a member of the HDMA Executive Committee.
Two additional Board members also were announced at the meeting. Jon Giacomin, President, U.S. Pharmaceutical Distribution, Cardinal Health, Inc., will replace Michael Kaufmann, Chief Executive Officer, Pharmaceutical Segment, Cardinal Health, Inc., on the Board and Executive Committee. Mr. Kaufmann served on the Board and Executive Committee since 2008. Timothy Booth, President/COO, Metro Medical Supply, Inc., was named to the Board in June.
